Applications invited for admissions to B.Ed. courses

Contrary to previous years, applications have to be submitted directly to the training colleges where one desires to get admission. Application forms can be purchased from respective colleges.

Kerala University
The government/aided/self-financing training colleges affiliated to the University of Kerala will distribute application forms for B.Ed. admissions for 2015-17 up to June 6, and completed application forms can be submitted till June 6.

Rank list will be published on June 15. Interview/admission will be held on June 22 and classes will commence on July 1.
Admissions will be made by the respective colleges on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Regular B.Ed. courses will be of two years duration covering four semesters.

Self-financing
In private self-financing colleges, 50 per cent of the seats under merit quota will be filled on the basis of merit following the reservation policy of the State government and 50 per cent management seats will be filled by the managements concerned.
The minimum marks required for admission to B.Ed. is 50 per cent for part III, 50 per cent in aggregate for (Part I, II, III together) bachelor’s degree (science or arts subjects) or 50 per cent marks in post graduation in the subject concerned. Rank list will be based on the marks for Part III.
For B.Ed. in Commerce, M.Com. holders with at least 50 per cent marks can apply.
There is no upper age limit for B.Ed. admission.
There are 49 training colleges affiliated to the University of Kerala. The annual tuition fee in government/aided colleges is 1,500 and in self-financing colleges, it is 29,000.

MG University

Applications have been invited up to June 6 for admission to two-year B.Ed. courses offered by the training colleges affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
Applicants who wish to apply to different colleges should submit separate applications in each college. Those who have secured M.Com. with not less than 50 per cent marks can apply for B.Ed. in Commerce.
MCA, M.Sc. Computer Science or M.Sc. Electronics holders with at least 50 per cent marks can apply for B.Ed. in information technology and computer science.
Application forms can be had from the colleges concerned on payment of Rs.30.
Applicants who are eligible for admission to more than one B.Ed. programmes will have to mark the courses to which they wish to be considered. The application format is given on the website as well, which can be download and the application fee of Rs.30 can then be paid at the college along with the filled in application.

University of Calicut

Applications have been invited for admission to B.Ed. offered by government/aided colleges, university teacher education centres, and unaided colleges affiliated to the University of Calicut.
‘There are 74 training colleges under the university and most of them are self-financing. Application forms are available at the colleges and the completed applications are to be submitted to the colleges concerned on or before June 6.
Those who have passed BA/B.Sc. with at least 50 per cent marks in Part I, II & III together or 50 per cent marks for Part III alone or master’s degree in the same subject with at least 50 per cent marks or M.Com. with 50 per cent marks are eligible to apply.
