Dubai: Niagara Blockchain City , anchored by the European Digital University, USA , brings together different facets of the Blockchain technology realm in the city in Canada.
Tech companies, research organizations, academic institutions, startups, investors, enablers, and user groups & communities…. everything connected with blockchain under one roof – That’s the concept of Niagara Blockchain City – Prof. Sidhic A Muhammed , Chancellor of the European Digital University, said in Dubai, Marina Yatch Club by honoring extraordinary personalities from different parts of the world.
Speaking to the media at the curtain raiser of the event, Prof. Sidhic A Muhammed explained , “ Nayagara Blockchain City, the first of its kind in Canada is to attract a global community .” He added , “We are planning to implement Blockchain in education, entertainment ,e-com , health, agriculture etc applications. We will be signing MoUs with a few firms in the USA, UK, India, Middle East etc.
The block that binds and brings all the stakeholders of the City together are different communities. The communities organize events on different levels and provide a stage for every blockchain technology enthusiast to stay updated, to network and to share their experiences.
Discovering who is doing what, making connections, finding resources, collaborating, and collectively amplifying the impact created in the field of Blockchain. Further, through strategic partners, take this collective forum to other blockchain initiatives and clusters globally.
This initiative of the European Digital University, USA for a Centre of Excellence depends on the contributions of its stakeholders. The collaboration has been encouraged by the EDU to promote the use of Blockchain technology globally and to foster the growth of the industry as a whole. Just like the startup ecosystem, a blockchain ecosystem is the need of the hour for the global community to build a successful Blockchain city , thereby to develop blockchain technology targeting the global community.
Start-ups will be able to get the advantage of the Centre of Excellence through: Support and Incentives from Regulatory Bodies, leveraging the network built through communities, learning from mentors, academia, training institutes, access to talent pool across the city, access to Investor network, state of the art Infrastructure.

The research groups based out of Universities and Corporates can collaborate to become the backbone of the R&D for the city. Together they can : Access to knowledge and industry experts, Faculty support, Infrastructure for research Labs, Involvement of Academia in the city will give a platform to Develop skilled market ready manpower. Partnering with the University for using labs and equipment by firms, business incubators, and technology parks. Working together to design curriculum for students to specialize in next-gen technologies, offering internships, and faculty training by industry experts. He said.
